The Mt Ascutney Bicycle Hill Climb returns! This popular race, held each year from 1999 to 2014, is making a comeback, on Saturday August 4, 2018. This fun and competitive event for cyclists features a paved 3.7 mile course with a 12% average grade. It is considered an excellent warm-up for Mt. Washington, at the same sustained grade, for half the distance.
This race was discontinued in 2015 because the number of registrants was declining. We are going to try to overcome this trend, by keeping the overhead low and the quality high. We are going to skip the T-shirts and the meal that is often served at these events. We are going to have chip timing and real-time internet results provided by All Sports Events, plenty of good-natured competition, awards, and BUMPS points to be earned!
This is race 3 of 7 in the BUMPS ( https://www.facebook.com/BikeUpTheMountainPointSeries/ ) hill climb championship points series. Earn points in each of the BUMPS events. Your top five scores are combined to determine your overall standing in this regional series.
