The SOO 200 celebrates the land and waters of the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma area. Known for the tough land of the Canadian shield, and stunning coastal landscapes, the SOO 200 will challenge all athletes.
The course is a combination of single track, double track, dirt road, cross-country, and even a bit of bushwhacking and beach running. There will be some short sections of route-finding, even though it is a prescribed course; the terrain can just be really gnarly out there. This 200-mile test of physical and mental endurance will push you further than ever before. With real-time race tracking, your supporters can follow your progress every step of the way. It's you versus the wild terrain, relentless conditions, and a course that doesn't care about excuses.
Checkpoints are every 20 to 40km apart, depending on the section of the race. Competitors are required to carry a Garmin inReach for both route-find and safety.
