Heyford Park Airbase Races

This is a race for every ability, whether you are aiming to set a new PB or improve on recent race times, competing against your club-mates, venturing into racing for the first time or stepping up a distance. Get an insight into what went on 'Behind the Wire' at Oxfordshire's most formidable Cold War Airbase, set in the beautiful Cherwell Valley countryside.
Entry on the Day: Subject to a GBP 3 surcharge (cash only, subject to availability)
Registration: From 08:30 to 09:30
Race Numbers: For collection at registration on the day only, numbers will not be posted. To be fastened to the front of your top using safety pins provided at registration, your number should be visible at all times. Your timing chip is attached to the back of your number and should not be removed
Timing: Chip-timed
Route: The route is entirely on tarmac (disused runways), free of traffic and suitable for runners of all abilities
Spectators: Very spectator friendly, with refreshments available
Toilets: There will be temporary toilets at the start/finish. These toilets will also be accessible at the halfway point of the half marathon
Water Stations: There will be water stations along the course at (approximately) every 5km point. Water will be provided in recyclable plastic cups
Post-Race Goodies: All runners will receive a goody bag on finishing the race
Refreshments: Pre/Post-race coffee and refreshments available
Results: Results will be uploaded live to our website (internet connection permitting) and, where possible, timing print-outs will be available at the race. In all cases, results will be communicated to all pre-registered participants within 24 hours of the event
Medals: All finishers will receive a medal on completing the race
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top three runners overall and the top runner in each of the veteran categories (V40/V50/V60/V70) for both males and females. Where possible, we will endeavour to present individual race prizes as soon as confirmed on the day
